Dan Sweatt, D.D.

Senior Pastor

Rev. Danny M. Sweatt received his training at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. For over thirty years he has served churches in Florida , Illinois and Georgia. He is a published author, a contributor to numerous periodicals and a frequent conference, college and camp speaker.

Shawn Kook

Assistant Pastor, Youth

After completing ten years in the workforce, Shawn Kook became the youth pastor at Berean in August of 2005. Prior to coming to Berean, Pastor Shawn served as the lay Youth Director at Phillips Drive Baptist Church. Shawn and his wife, Jill, joined Berean in 1997 and began serving on the youth staff that year. Since 1998, he has travelled and spoken on teen mission trips to Dominica, Carriacou-Grenada, St. Kitts (twice), and Barbados, as well as accompanying a team to New York City in 2005. In 2006, Pastor Shawn led three teen trips to Brunswick, Georgia, Fairbanks, Alaska, and again to the island of Barbados. The Kooks have three children - Carson, Colman, and Kristen.

Randy Hurst

Assistant Pastor, Administration

Pastor Randy Hurst came to Berean in January of 2004 after completing 24 years of ministry in Christian Education. He was a teacher and coach for several years before spending 20 years in school leadership. He served as administrator of two Christian schools in Florida and one in Pennsylvania. Pastor Hurst also served as the National Field Representative for American Association of Christian Schools for several years before accepting the position of Administrative Pastor at Berean Baptist Church. Pastor Hurst received his Masters degree in Educational Administration in 1984 and is a frequent speaker at educational conferences and Christian schools.

Rob Finch

Music Pastor

Pastor Rob Finch came to Berean Baptist in February of 2007 to serve as Music Pastor. Prior to coming to Berean, Pastor Rob served as the Music Pastor for Faith Baptist Church in Longmont, CO where he served for 21 years. His ministry experience includes serving as the Fine Arts Tournament Director for the Colorado Association of Christian Schools, directing numerous school plays and productions, serving as a class sponsor and leading a Missions Trip to Bolivia. In addition to his music ministry, Pastor Rob will be leading the Young Singles Ministry. In 1994 he received his Master of Music in Church Music from Bob Jones University. He and his wife, Janeen, have 3 children

Hugh McCoy

Assistant Pastor, Education

Before coming to Berean Baptist Church, Pastor Hugh McCoy worked in the business community for 18 years as a Human Resources Manager for Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation. He has been on staff at Berean for the past five years and serves as Education Pastor as well as Director of Berean Baptist Music Academy, which has approximately 200 students.

Pastor McCoy received his Bachelors in Music Education with a piano proficiency and his Masters in Educational Administration. He has been a pianist for churches, conferences, and sacred recordings and has 31 years of teaching experience. Pastor McCoy teaches the Young Married Sunday School Class and has led mission trips to St. Lucia, Scotland, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Antigua.
