Berean Homeschool Academy Activities

History Fair

Event Held: October 2010
Theme: American History

“For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations.” Psalm 100:5

From basketball to the chocolate chip cookie to the Internet to the Space Shuttle, God has blessed Americans with the ability to invent. From Mayflower Pilgrims to circuit riding preachers to American missionaries in Myanmar, God has been spreading His Gospel far and wide. Homeschool students were encouraged to spotlight a famous American, historic place, invention, sports, pivotal event, or even a favorite American food to remind ourselves of the sovereignty of God over our nation.

Our students were very creative in their displays, and covered diverse topics such as American dolls, the American Revolution, the American flag, World War II, U.S. Dollar Coins, Play Dough, Chick-fil-A, Walt Disney, John Audubon, Harriet Tubman, George Washington, and Abraham Lincoln. All students also had fun in a History Scavenger Hunt where the answers to mystery questions were hidden in the display booths, and door prizes were awarded to the kids with the most questions answered correctly.

The BHA History Fair alternates years with the BHA Geography Fair.

Science Fair

All participants are judged by a team of Christian science professionals. All students are given an opportunity to make a public presentation of their research projects in front of a live audience as well as being interviewed by the judges at their display tables.

Science Fair 2011

Event Held: January 2011
Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth… Ecclesiastes 12:1a

God blessed the BHA Science Fair 2011 with great success as our homeschoolers demonstrated a sound knowledge of their research projects. All winners followed the scientific method and integrated Biblical truths into their research projects. The high quality of their efforts was evident as they showcased a wide range of scientific experiments and discoveries from bacteria and hygiene to electricity and electrolysis to earthquake and non-Newtonian fluids. All winners in first through third places received trophies, and all participants received a Certificate of Participation.

Geography Fair
